Answers to your questions

Individual psychotherapy or art psychotherapy sessions £85.

Group art psychotherapy sessions - please enquire.

What are the steps to take and how long do sessions last for?

Contact me for a free informal chat to discuss your requirements.

We can arrange a time to meet and think together about what it is you are seeking from psychotherapy.

There will be a focus on the process and how to best support you.

How much of the work do I have to do?

Psychotherapy requires an active participation. The therapeutic relationship provides the space to facilitate change.

Do you use Freudian or Jungian analysis techniques?

My philosophy is first and foremost grounded in the interpersonal relationship between client and therapist. The past may be influencing present situations and experiences, therefore a safe and trusting space will be created from which to explore thoughts and feelings.
Art psychotherapy has its roots in a visual arts practice, and so combines this with a primarily psychoanalytic, psychodynamic mode and Jungian theories. I also include other approaches such as mentalisation-based treatment.

Are the sessions confidential?

Yes. I am registered with BAAT (British Association of Art Therapists) and follow their ethical guidelines. I am registered with HCPC (Health & Care Professions Council) who monitor and regulate the caring professions such as art psychotherapy. I am also a member of BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy).

How long should I continue with psychotherapy?

This really depends on your unique circumstances and needs. An open-ended approach in which there is space for your to explore new issues that may arise once the therapy has started may be the most helpful.

How long does each therapy session take?

Individual sessions are 50 minutes.
Group sessions are 75-90 minutes, plus time to set up and clear up the room.
